Back from the K2 Retreat! And just like every church camp/retreat, I'm sad its over. We always remind ourselves that CG is like a glimpse of heaven, and when that continued glimpse "ends", we are thrown back into the world, to continue on dealing with all the distractions plus difficulties etc. Sian, but, I really am happy that I went for retreat and with all the things we said/did, memorable :)
I like the way Cindy did her K2 retreat post - in Twitter style! So I'll be un-original and just do point form too. Anyway, I decided to just buy the storage, 20GB from Google so I won't move/use an external website to post pictures :)
- Sunday, reached the chalet, settled in, played Quelf! A pretty random but fun board game.
- At this point, we did not break anything or have to climb onto the roof to retrieve anything, like previous years.
- Shared our expectations for the retreat with each other and took turns writing it on the Mahjong paper :)
- Dinner at Downtown! We constantly reminded each other not to look up at anybody or make any eye contact, for fear of being slashed or caught in the middle of a fight. It's downtown..

- My favourite part of the retreat! Sharing Prayer and Affirmation :) I always love hearing what fellow K2-ers have to say about their lives, their year, about each other, God, themselves. This year, Byron bought everyone a photo frame plus art supplies and we drew lots to decide who would design the frame + picture for who. Basically to thank them and to encourage them for the year ahead. In the end, Ericson drew Wang who drew ZK who drew Kiawei who drew Me who drew Chesed who drew Cindy who drew James who drew Da Ye who drew Fern who drew Eric!

- I received my photo frame from Kiawei and I really felt touched :) I hope Chesed liked the one I did for her. Though now, I don't know her cause she just joined us, I hope she felt welcome!

- During sharing, one of the questions was what we were thankful to K2 for during 2010. And I realised that K2 really means a lot to me :)
- Later in the night, after the high of sharing, we went out for supper! Then went to check out the nearby prawning place. Would love to try prawning overnight one day, seems fun :)
- Came back to the chalet after that, showered, changed (I wore my aunty dress - comfortable!) and hung out. Cindy and I were just hanging out talking, then ZK and Ericson walked into our room and hijacked our bed -.- Fern and James were in another room talking. So we just played monopoly deal etc then suddenly, Ericson just declared "Okay, time to sleep" and ZK taupok-ed him and "BONG!!!". The bed crashed inwards and Ericson slid down onto the floor. HAHAHAHA Seriously should've seen Ericson's shock when the bed give way. Fern and James later told us they heard a loud crash, then silence and then roars of laughter HAHA

- Next morning, we had Silence and Solitude which was great! 2 whole hours of just being alone plus we were next to the beach, so I walked out to the shore and sat there. It was a good spot, until two teenage boys came to fish. I got a little scared when they casted their rods, kept imagining the hook accidentally hooking my skin :( Moved to a bench later on.
- Had lunch from Downtown, went out to buy
- Swimming plus playing at the beach in the afternoon!

- After the afternoon at the beach, a few of us went to play pool at Downtown East. Actually we weren't as interested in playing as we were interested in watching Byron play. He's really really good!
- BBQ after that! Always yummy :) And we played with sparklers and bomb bags!

- After BBQ, we had worship plus the feet-washing exercise. Like how Jesus washed his disciples' feet, we washed each other's feet. Once again we drew lots! Fern drew Me who drew Cindy who drew James who drew Fern. Ericson drew Weiwen who drew Byron who drew Ericson. And Da Ye and Kiawei drew each other's names.
- After that we went to shower etc and get ready to sleep. Get this: while Cindy was showering, she saw a finger tapping on the windowpane. (Our toilets have a frosted window) And she said "Oi", assuming it was one of us, and the person went away. But honestly it wasn't any of us... And it seems creepier because last year, while Fern was showering, somebody passed a shampoo bottle through the window too. And it was not done by us :( Mystery. Hopefully, next year, we get to have our retreat at Aloha again so we can see if it happens again!
- Played cards, ordered Macs and slept at 4am. Pretty uneventful night, no pranks. Byron locked his room HAHA
- The next day, we woke up, packed and returned to chapel to drop off stuff and finally had lunch at Singpost. Cabbed home after that, super tired.
So that concludes my post on the K2 retreat. Overall, I just feel thankful for my CG and for the God-given time :)
